Make a Wish

There are a few life events that Harley Spark would like to erase from her memory. At the top of that list is the time she almost kissed the widowed father of the baby she was nannying for. Soon after the incident-that-shall-not-be-discussed, they moved out of town and Harley never heard from them again. Since then, Harley stopped nannying and began working with her sisters at Spark House, but she never got over what happened. Seven years later, she comes face-to-face with Gavin Rhodes and a now nine-year-old Peyton while hosting a birthday party. Despite the initial awkwardness, Harley ends up reconnecting with Peyton and Gavin. What begins as a tentative friendship, soon morphs into something more. Having finally moved away from his overbearing mother-in-law, Gavin is happy to have Harley back in his and Peyton’s life. Only he doesn’t expect to develop feelings for Harley, or to feel territorial when he meets the guy she’s dating—and subsequently breaks up with. But just as a happy-ever-after is on the horizon, past hurts and fears resurface. And Gavin finds himself holding onto a history that could prevent them from building a future together.
